Javascript: Puzzle (game with numbers)

I updated a game implemented in 2013. It's still a sketch, but anyway, it's on my list of projects. :)

You can play it here: http://ghitab.github.io/Puzzle/
Also you can check the code here: https://github.com/GhitaB/Puzzle

Have fun!

GitHub: delete a branch

Sure, sometimes you need it.

$ git branch -d branch-name
$ git push origin --delete branch-name

Add code in your blogger post

You can use this tool to prepare your code for posting on Blogger. The example is the Bootstrap basic template.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    <!-- The above 3 meta tags *must* come first in the head; any other head content must come *after* these tags -->
    <title>Bootstrap 101 Template</title>

    <!-- Bootstrap -->
    <link href="css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">

    <!-- HTML5 shim and Respond.js for IE8 support of HTML5 elements and media queries -->
    <!-- WARNING: Respond.js doesn't work if you view the page via file:// -->

      <script src="https://oss.maxcdn.com/respond/1.4.2/respond.min.js"></script>
    <h1>Hello, world!</h1>

How to create a simple favicon

I used favicon.cc to create a simple favicon for my projects page. The steps are:

  1. Paint your image using any color you want.
  2. For each change you can see the favicon updated in the web browser tab.
  3. When you like it just press the Download Favicon button and you have the favicon.ico file
Add the image in your images folder (Images in my case), insert it in your html page (head section):

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="Images/favicon.ico" />

RawGit: Same design for multiple projects

I started to define a common style for my web pages. First, I updated my blogs on Blogger using the Theme editor:

  1. Ghiță Bizău - personal blog
  2. GhitaB Art - my blog with drawings and paintings
  3. Lecții de desen - drawing lessons in romanian
The result seems nice for me, I used a background texture generated here: http://bg.siteorigin.com/
(It's really good if you need a texture for your website.)

A second step was to define a section for my links. I used fontawesome icons, I created a repository on GitHub and set gh-pages to use the master branch, so a preview is always up to date here. I included this gh-page as iframe in my blogs. The result is a nice list of my activities / projects. When I need to change something I just update the index.html in my profile repository and all the blogs will take the change. I saved the background texture image in this repo, too.

Then I started to think about my other projects on GitHub. I use gh-pages for them, too. How can I have a single css that will define my default design?

The solution is:
  1. I created a simple theme using Bootstrap (I like Bootstrap and I use it for my personal projects.) and some css. I published it on GitHub: https://github.com/GhitaB/default-design
  2. The background texture image uses existing image in profile repo: https://github.com/GhitaB/default-design/blob/master/styles.css#L2
  3. I set gh-pages for it to have a preview: https://ghitab.github.io/default-design/
  4. Using RawGit I received a link for my styles to be used in my other projects.
  5. Then I updated the projects to use that link to css.
The result, take a look to my projects:
  1. Jonah - illustrated book for kids
  2. Miracles of Jesus - coloring book
  3. Projects - a list of projects
Sure, I can beautify my default design, but it's working:
  1. I will just write my css in a single file,
  2. then I will create a new tag for default-design:
    1. $ git tag 1.0.2
    2. $ git push --tags
  3. and I will update my projects to use the new tag.
So, I can choose if I want to keep a project with an older design or to update it to latest version.

Sure, this is better than having the same css styles in multiple files and projects and trying to keep them all updated...

Next steps? For the moment I have not any problem with the limits of gh-pages.
I need an easy Back to blog option on my all projects. My blog is kind of Home for my other pages. :)

Shepherd of my heart

Maker of this heart of mine
You know me very well
You understand my deepest part
More than I know myself
So when I face the darkness
When I need to find my way
I'll trust in You
Shepherd of my heart

Keeper of this heart of mine
Your patience has no end
You've loved me back into Your arms
Time and time again
So if I start to wander
Like a lamb that's gone astray
I'll trust in You
Shepherd of my heart

You're the beacon of my nights
You're the sunlight of my days
I can rest within Your arms
I can know Your loving ways
So let the cold winds blow
Let the storms rage all around
I'll trust in You
Shepherd of my heart

Giver of this life in me
You're what I'm living for
For all my deepest gratitude
You love me even more
So as I walk through valleys
Listening for the Master's call
I'll trust in you
Shepherd of my heart

You're the beacon of my nights
You're the sunlight of my days
I can rest within Your arms
I can know Your loving ways
So as I walk through valleys
Listening for my Master's call
I'll trust in You
Shepherd of my heart

I'll trust in You
Shepherd of my heart

Precious child

Show me dear Lord
How you see me
Through Your eyes
So that I can realize
Your great love for me

Teach me O Lord
That I am precious in Your sight
And as a father loves his child
So you love me

I am Yours because You have chosen me
I’m your child because You’ve called my name
And your steadfast love
Will never change
I will always be your precious child

Show me dear Lord
That I can never earn Your love
That a gift cannot be earned
Only given

Teach me O Lord
That Your love will never fade
That I can never drive away
Your great mercy
